As the author of The Assignment, Liza Wiemer has done extensive research into Holocaust education, revealing and stopping numerous inappropriate assignments that promote antisemitism and other forms of hatred, including in schools. Through her work, she is helping educators and students connect the past with what is transpiring in society today. In this session, Liza will share behind-the-scenes information, the broad impact these assignments have on the world, and how her novel is changing parents', teachers’, and students’ perspectives, empowering them to be upstanders for a better world.
