Rosh Hashana and the urgency of time

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The key contemporary message of Rosh Hashana is that our time is finite and we need to live with a certain kind of “calm urgency”prioritising what we want to get out of our lives in whatever time is remaining. Perhaps our greatest need as human beings is to live purpose-driven lives, where we can feel what we did, and how we behaved, where we have mattered to those around us – whatever relationship they had to us. What kinds of changes do we need to make, to our schedules; to our goals and to our relationships, in order to begin to move in the direction of a fully meaningful existence? In this session we will explore how these themes are revealed in the Jewish New Year prayers and how to use certain spiritual exercises to create a renewed self.
